I have decided that there is one area in my house that doesn't get the use it deserves. THE KITCHEN. For some reason the Kitchen is a room I avoid at all costs. The idea of cooking is overwhelming. I don't know where to start, what to make, and how much to make of it. I also have found that whenever I try to cook I always end up wasting more than half of what I bought. So my new challenge is to grow in the kitchen. If I can grow in the kitchen I can grow in health.
This weekend I am going to try something new. I have been putting together a list of ideas for meals. The meals are aimed to feed only a single person, and are all healthy options. With this list I want to go to the grocery store and get all the ingredients I need to make lunch and dinner each day for the following week. My plan is to shop, make up whatever I can Saturday night, and have it all stored and ready to go for the following week.
The big focus is to not only make homemade health meals, but to make sure that everything I buy at the store is consumed. Beyond not feeling up for cooking an entire meal between work, walking the dog, and yoga, I tend to not want to spend the money on food. Part of being a single person under the roof, is its easy to waste food. Part of my list of meals includes using the same ingredients in multiple ways, so that it gets consumed rather than wasted.
So here we go with a new challenge...
CHEERS TO HEALTHY LIVING! :)
If you have any healthy food ideas, that would work well for a single person meal, send them my way!! I need all the help I can get!
