She's got beauty - From the inside out.

Beauty... the one word that every girl can't help but strive for, wish to feel, and want to be defined by.  What a simple word with so much power.  But what is beauty?  And where does the decision lie with who and what gets the privilege of applying that desirable adjective? Webster does a great job at defining beauty:

beau·ty [ bytee ]

1. pleasing and impressive qualities of something: the combination of qualities that make something pleasing and impressive to look at, listen to, touch, smell, or taste

Synonyms: loveliness, attractiveness, good looks, prettiness, exquisiteness, gorgeousness, splendor, magnificence

I look at this definition and the first thing that stands out to me is this - "pleasing and impressive."  Pleasing and impressive.... to who?! If there is one thing I have learned in my life, its that life in itself is beautiful. We are ALL pleasing and impressive.  Now, I know there are times when maybe I have not been so pleasing... or maybe what I have said or done has fallen more than short of impressive; but I refuse to believe that those times stole my beauty.

We are defined not by the way we look or but by the person we are.  What makes us who we are is our thoughts, actions, and surroundings.  The definition of beauty states that it can be applied to looks, sound, touch, smell, taste... anything!  Therefore, there has to be a bit of beauty in each of us; at least somewhere. Yet what some consider beautiful- others may look straight through.

 Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.  Isn't that how the saying goes? 

So behold it.  Be beautiful.  Be you.  Dream it, dare to accomplish it, and desire to live it.  If you yourself believe you hold beauty- then who's to say you don't?
