For this first time in a long time I did something I almost forgot how to do... I relaxed. I hung around the apartment. I didn't spend a penny. I didn't run errands. I lounged. I read. I cleaned. I redecorated. I watched a documentary or two. I spent time with Potato. I listened to music. I relaxed.
It felt good to just relax. The first morning I woke up early, lit all the candles in the house and listened to the rain fall while I read "Eat, Pray, Love". I continued the day with completely rearranging the house décor. It felt so good to really give the apartment a deep clean and give everything new places to live. It's always refreshing to change things up. I moved plants around, changed my table top décor, and rearranged the smaller pieces of furniture. It's not a drastic change, but non-the-less, I love it.
Here's Potato enjoying the nice clean patio!
I finished yesterday with a long walk with Potato and an early bed time with a movie to drift off to. I woke up this morning refreshed and ready to go... at 5am! The one problem with taking an easy day off, if you go to bed early, you wake up early. Well since I was so wide awake I decided I couldn't miss the morning sunrise.
Can you blame me! Look for yourself--
Beautiful right?! Potato and I walked around the little park on the edge of Mercer Island. It was beautiful. The water was still and the city was silent. It's not often you can catch such a peaceful feeling in such a busy community. We walked all around the park and then found a hidden little spot to just be. I listened to the water, memorized the site, and just breathed. It felt good to be at peace.
The remainder of today I have spent on laundry, dishes, and painting my nails. Feels good to get stuff done and pamper myself at the same time . I am so thankful I was able to have such a relaxing, peaceful, and beautiful weekend. It seems lately life has been so chaotic and it felt sooo good to just finally BE. I thank God for that feeling and am grateful he has given me the strength to start another week. -- So happy. :)
