"Think of the glorious things we will know, when we’ve let go of the illusions we were taught to believe." - DLee
We were all raised to believe certain things. Milk makes you grow big and strong, coffee stunts your growth, if you hold your face like that long enough it will get stuck that way, swallowing watermelon seeds will make watermelons grow in your tummy, and if you smoke marijuana you are bound to get involved in harder drugs.
All of these corky little beliefs we are taught as children aren't necessarily facts, but rather a tool used to help children grow up, make good decisions, and do the "right" thing.
Recently I have been challenging myself with releasing the ideas that have been pounded in my head as a child and opening my mind up to the world around me. I have noticed that when I claim to know how something works, those claims tends to be nothing but a closed minded assumption. The world can't be predicted, can't be defined, and can't be controlled. So how do humans with their controlling nature, live in such an uncontrollable world?

I want to be someone who is accepting and loving. I want judgement to be far away from my heart, and care and kindness to be my natural state. The way I do things may not always be the correct way, but when I become closed minded I also loose all possibility of learning and understanding new ideas. Wisdom is only gained when we are willing to experience and learn.
Cheers to an open mind!
