Visiting my Other Home.

I got spoiled with a 3 day weekend this past week, and I just got to say I enjoyed every minute of it.  I hit the road right after work Thursday and headed to my home town.  Thursday night I got to visit with my parents for a couple hours before heading out for the evening.  I went down to the Roxy and caught the last little bit of the 'Little Black Dress' event and surprised all my girlfriends with my new short hair cut.

Friday was busy, busy.  I started the day out with taking Tator to get his stitches out.  He was so happy to get his cone off and be free again!  And I was happy to see how well he was healing and to see him all excited to run around with out the cone of shame :)  Followed by the vet visit, I had a yummy breakfast with the boy, then decided to make the drive over to watch my little sisters last high school dance competition.  (and let me just say, she did amazing!)  They took second in the dance category with a kick ass routine, that was fierce and emotional all at the same time; and oh man did I have a blast cheering her on! The State Dance competition was followed by a night down at the Roxy.  Things were a little busy so I got to get my hands dirty and help out.  It actually was a lot of fun helping clean up and visit with the customers.

Friday was followed by an even busier Saturday.  We slept in then finally had to hit the ground running.  Showered and ready by 3pm it was Randy Hanson night and the wine bar was in prep mode.  I spent sometime with one of my close sisters and did some last minute shopping, and grabbed a pizza to tide everyone over, and then the event was in full gear. Randy did an amazing job.  He packed that cute little wine bar full of about 150 people and had everyone in the place rockin'!  I got to spend some quality time with my girlfriends and watch this man go nuts on the guitar.  It was a blast.

Saturdays events made for a tiring Sunday.  Exhausted as ever, yesterday was a "keep it easy" kind of day.   I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, and got the day started a bit shaky.  But after a long morning talk, spending a few hours with my family, relaxing down at the wine bar, hot tubing, and finishing the night off as little spoon it couldn't have been a better day.

I headed back to the Seattle side around 3:30 this morning, and man am I feeling it today!  Driving in the morning is always easier for me than driving late at night. I made it back into town with just enough time to take Tator out, water the plants, brush my hair, and jump in the car to head off to the office.  Today will be a long day, but I would rather be tired today having got to do all I did this past weekend, then have been well rested and missing my friends and family.

The trip home was much needed.  And as always... it was SO hard to leave.  But I'm keeping the positive thoughts flowing and I am holding my chin high.  I was blessed with a great weekend, now to start a great week! :)
